Product Description

Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story of love on many levels--first love, love between parents and children -- that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that love can break our hearts...and heal them.

Wonderful!, 2010-07-27
By KristinKatastrophe
I'm a big fan of Nicholas Sparks' books. He has a way with love stories. I must admit that after seeing the movie, I was disappointed. The actors didn't do it justice. Then I decided to buy the book, thinking I often like he books better than movies. This book is filled with different relationships I've never had and lessons of youth that keep it real. Nicholas Sparks is a wonderful writer & it's in his stories that I find myself believing in love. I would recommend this book to anyone & everyone.

My first book by Nicholas Sparks. It was fantastic, and I've spread the word to all my friends that it was GREAT! Only one person that I have suggested this book to has not shared my enthusiastic view.

Good story, touching, and have some tissues for the end, 2010-07-26
By Staise
The story was enjoyable and an easy read. There was no need to look up words in my dictionary, as I have to do with some other authors' works that I enjoy reading. If you are looking for vivid descriptions and improving your vocabulary, this is not for you. It is worth-while to read; expect to be heart-touched and even shed a few tears at the end.

This book has an incredible story. Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author and this is indeed one of his best works. I am 17 just like the main character in the story and I could easily relate to it. Keep them coming Mr. Sparks :]

Fine for fans of the film, 2010-07-20
By Author/Journalist
Sparks does a great job with love stories, but I had a tough time with this one. Having seen the movie first, and knowing that this was written specifically to tie in with the film version, I felt it was a little too forced in its storytelling. Fans of the movie, however, will certainly enjoy it...getting to know the characters in greater detail and exploring a bit more of the geographical and nature aspects. Overall, it is best read by devotees of Miley & Liam.
