Very disappointed in the cuisinart coffee maker. something seems terribly wrong. it boiled coffee grinds all over the place. it was not over-filled or anything. everything was measured carefully. It was a challenge getting the grinds cleaned out.

This item is neccessary to keep your water fresh for good tasting coffee. I went too long once and the paper eroded to the point where charcoal was getting into water. So now I put a reminder on my calendar to change the filter. Requires one and you get a spare when ordering. Item is a dollar cheaper than Lowe's. Of course no trip to store and state tax is a plus to order it from Amazon.

Have been using for a few weeks and thus far would say it has worked as advertised. Some of the other reviews addressed some grounds getting through the filter if you get the screen vice a paper filter and we have used the screen and would agree there is some grounds that make it through so be aware if you go this route. Other than that I like the way it pours realtive to my old pot which had a tendency to run down the pot.
